The Washington post has an article on Aids and Africa, which states that in some countries such as in Rwanda, the numbers of people with Aids were overstated. What should take conclude from this piece of information? Is the conclusion that there is no Aids epidemic in Africa and therefore the attention that is paid to the problem is too great compare to the reality? Or it the conclusion that data and research in Africa is done badly and that in the case of a disease as potent as Aids, it is necessary to have the right data not only to know the extent of the problem, but also to fight it. Information is priceless especially when the consequence of ignorance and of inaction is death.
