Well, at least one planet was demoted this week since Pluto is no longer a planet, but something else. What changed since it was agreed that Pluto was a planet? Does it matter anyway? The only thing that Plutogate shows that astronomy is a science, which includes some subjectivity especially when it comes to interpreting evidence. Oh well, I guess I'm going to have to learn to forget what I learn when I was in school. The good news for me is that it isn't going to be difficult. Nevertheless, I feel sad that Pluto is no longer a planet because size shouldn’t be everything. I wonder how much we know about the solar system and how much what we know is true or misinterpreted?
