Spiegel has a summary of major German Newspapers’ reactions to Sarkozy’s speech in front of ambassadors yesterday in which he elaborated on the major goals and objectives of French foreign policy. Spiegel calls Sarkozy Rambo and I have to say that it is a fair metaphore even though their physiques are so drastically different though I 'm sure that he is in Sarko's mind he is as physically imposing as Stallone. Sarkozy raises some eyebrows when he talked about the possibility of the use of force in Iran. My favorite excerpt comes from the Berliner Zeitung:
(With his speech) Sarkozy freed even himself from the illusion that he is strong and consistent. Now he is just feeble and volatile like all the others. Now you can say that the disappointed have themselves to blame because they believed in the unbelievable. The joke is that it's always going to work that way, because people always want to believe that there is somebody who will be able to change everything and because people actually usually disappoint themselves with their grand pledges.
