The worst thing about this quote from Gore Vidal isn't the quote itself, but the sad reality that he is asserting something that most of the planet believes...it is heartbreaking to say, but the rest of the world loves Obama because like the birthers, they believe that he isn't really American, (Africans believe that he is African because his father was Kenyan, Europeans believe that he has a European sensibility because he spent some of his youth in Indonesia and because he is well-read and went to Harvard, People in the Middle East believe that since his father was a Muslim, he has to be on their side,..etc.):
