Robert Kagan has lost touch with reality and the following assertion shows:
The president who ran against "unilateralism" in the 2008 campaign has worse relations overall with American allies than George W. Bush did in his second term.
Kagan, without realizing it, is in fact praising Obama for he is asserting that Obama, in spite of his demagogic campaign, that he is doing what he feels is in America's interests even if it means being like or worst than George Bush. The troubling issue here is the fact there is a prevalent vision of America's interests that doesn't change from president to president because they are worried about being accused of weakening America. That said, for Obama to have worst relationships with America's allies than Bush, he would have to do something drastic such as invading unilaterally Iran.
