The new scramble for Africa

Via Mother Jones (h/t: Sean Jacobs), here is the new map of Africa highlighting the fact that Africa is ground zero for celebrity activism. I'm not scandalized for outrage is easy and moreover, it is useless in this situation for the key questions are does celebrity activism facilitate or hinder the development of African countries?And why is it so prevalent?
